Social Services
Social service professionals are available to all patients and families. Staff members assist you with social and emotional needs while at the hospital. They also provide assistance when you're leaving the hospital, if you need follow-up care or services.
Additional services include:
- Preadmission screening for nursing home placement.
- Discharge planning.
- Psychosocial counseling.
- Financial counseling.
- Outpatient continuity of care.
- Patient and family conferences.
- Information about support groups.
- Crisis intervention.
While at the hospital, you can ask to speak with a social service professional. They will gladly help you find answers and solutions to your concerns.
Spiritual care
Norton King's Daughters' Health wants to meet your need for spiritual care. At any time you can request that your personal pastor or spiritual advisor be called. Several clergy in the area provide care for those who desire to speak with someone but who do not have their own pastor. Emergency pastoral care is available in critical situations.
If you're a member of the clergy and would like to be a spiritual volunteer or be accessible for on-call duty, please contact Volunteer Services, at 812.801.0129.
