Leapfrog Group awards KDH another "A" Patient Safety Grade

The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the United States healthcare system, has released new Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assign A, B, C, D, and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide. King’s Daughters' Health was one of 855 hospitals to receive an "A" for its commitment to reducing errors, infections, and accidents that can harm. It's the sixth consecutive "A" Grade awarded to KDH.

"Earning another 'A' Grade from the Leapfrog Group demonstrates the remarkable dedication of our team members. They are committed to providing exceptional care for our patients every day," said Natalie Thornsberry, Director of Quality at King's Daughters' Health.

"Leapfrog's Hospital Safety Grades recognize hospitals like King's Daughters' Health that focus on advancing patient safety. This ranking provides an important resource for patients, and a benchmark for hospitals, to determine how care at one hospital compares to others in the region," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "Hospitals that earn an A Hospital Safety Grade deserve to be recognized for their efforts in preventing medical harm and errors."

Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. Hospitals twice a year. The hospital Safety Grade's methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
