Photo of the late Bonnie HareKing’s Daughters’ Health and the Bethany Circle of King’s Daughters’ and Sons mourn the passing of Bonnie Hare and honor her life of service.

As a member of the KDH Board of Managers, Bonnie served as both secretary and vice chair. Her unwavering support, love of KDH and knowledge of healthcare helped her advance King’s Daughters’ Health and its mission.

Bonnie was passionate about her support for patients. On her own time, Bonnie created woven purple crosses with a hand-written scripture (Psalm 121: vs. 1 and 2) that could be given to patients who were nearing the end-of-life. She also helped make port-a-cath pillows that eased the discomfort for cancer patients who required a port for ongoing treatments.

Devoted to continuing the legacy of her late parents, Dr. Francis and Marjorie Hare, Bonnie valued the rich history and purpose of King’s Daughters’ Health. She routinely educated Bethany Circle and Board Members about the hospital’s original founders and their mission to serve the community.

Bonnie’s intelligence, strength and friendship will be missed by all of us within the King’s Daughters’ Health family. She demonstrated grace and perseverance even when her own health was failing. We are better people and a better organization for having known and worked with Bonnie Hare.

She will forever remain in our hearts.
