Community update on cybersecurity event at Norton KDH

Hospital news | Wednesday, February 23, 2022

On February 10, Norton King’s Daughters’ Health (NKDH) experienced a cybersecurity event. NKDH immediately commenced an investigation and retained experienced external cybersecurity consultants. We also notified law enforcement and are cooperating with their investigation. Although the investigation is ongoing, it does not appear this event impacted any other Norton Healthcare facilities. In an abundance of caution, however, we have temporarily disconnected email and certain internet services at NKDH while the investigation continues. NKDH remains open and continues to serve our patients.

There have been questions about whether employee and patient information was compromised due to this event. That assessment continues, and we are committed to keeping our employees and our community updated as we learn more. In the meantime, we are focused on restoring systems and operations as quickly as possible.

We commend our NKDH team members for their incredible efforts over the past weeks to make sure NKDH remained open to serve our patients following the event.
