Safety and Self Defense
King's Daughters' Health will host a free Safety and Self Defense workshop for women from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 26 in the hospital's Conference Center (Oak Rooms 1/2) on the basement level. To register, contact the KDH Wellness Department at 812.801.0175 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Workshop participants will learn important topics such as ...
- Risk Awareness
- Risk Reduction
- Risk Avoidance
- Risk Recognition
Reducing these risks by increasing your safety is 90 percent of self-defense education. Attend this session and learn how to build confidence, stay safe, and defend yourself if ever attacked.
The program is ideal for women who live or travel alone, women who will be heading to college or who just started dating, women who work at night or who like to exercise outdoors. It's also ideal for women who just want to feel safer in a parking garage or parking lot.
Workshop instructors are KDH Wellness Coordinator Heather Foy and Madison Police Department officer Dan Slygh. Space is limited to register early.
