Open House - Genius 3D Mammography
King's Daughters' Health will host a community Open House to introduce its new Genius 3D Mammography suite from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1 at the hospital. Guests should arrive at the Outpatient Services Desk on the main floor.
Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the Genius 3D Mammography suite, view some of the incredible images, ask questions, and learn more about the advantages of the Genius 3D Mammography exam with Clarity HD and SmartCurve technology. Guests will also be able to speak with Breast Care Navigators and schedule an upcoming mammogram appointment.
Why Genius 3D
Genius 3D Mammography allows doctors to examine your breast tissue layer by layer. Thus, instead of viewing the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below.
Clarity HD and SmartCurve Technology
Beyond the Genius technology, King's Daughters' Health has further invested into both stunning Clarity HD (high resolution) images and the SmartCurve breast stabilization system that provides added comfort by using curved paddles during the mammogram process. While not all women will be able to use the SmartCurve paddles, most will benefit from the added comfort.
Fewer Callbacks and Earlier Detection
The Genius 3D Mammography exam reduces callback rates by up to 40 percent, compared to 2D (traditional) mammography images. In addition, only the Genius 3D Mammography exam is proven to find 20-65 percent more invasive breast cancers compared to 2D alone - an average increase of 41 percent. The Genius exam is also the only mammogram FDA approved as superior for women with dense breasts.
