Scheduling a screening mammogram

October is the perfect time to schedule a screening mammogram. If you're a woman who is 40 years or over, we recommend an annual mammogram to aid in the early detection of breast cancer. As each woman is unique, we also recommend that you talk with your personal care provider about screening options that are best for you.

At King’s Daughters’ Health, our Breast Cancer Navigator can help you schedule an appointment and even give you a list of our mammogram testing locations. Once you speak with your health care provider, they’ll be able to give you a better idea of how often you should be tested based on your personal medical history. A family history of breast cancer - or other factors - could mean that you need to start earlier or include additional testing.

What's Our Recommended Mammogram Schedule?

Did you know that early detection of breast cancer through screening mammograms can make it easier for doctors to treat the disease? Our recommended mammogram schedule differs depending on your age:

  • Women ages 50 to 54 should get a screening mammogram every year.
  • For women who are 55 or older, the recommended mammogram schedule is once every two years.

Here at King's Daughters' Health, we make scheduling a screening mammogram easy. You do not need a physician's (provider) order. Just give us a call:

If you need follow-up care after your mammogram, a Breast Care Navigator will be in touch. If you have questions, you can reach the Breast Care Navigator at 812.801.8080.
