Food Safety: Free community program - Nov. 17

House of Health events are a great resource for the community. These FREE programs are offered as a coordinated effort between King's Daughters' Health and the Jefferson County Health Department.

The November (2017) program is all about Food Safety - perfect timing with Thanksgiving and the Holidays right around the corner. How should you thaw a frozen turkey? How long should you cook a turkey? What are the recommended guidelines for cooking other types of meat, from ham to beef, etc. Learn why it's important to wash your hands and cooking utensils while preparing food to avoid contamination. You'll also learn how to safely store leftovers.

The program is Friday, November 17 at the Jefferson County Clearinghouse: House of Hope Food Pantry.corner of 1st and West Streets in downtown Madison. If you have questions, contact Heather Foy at 812.801.0175.
