The King’s Daughters’ Diabetes Care Center accredited by the American Diabetes Association for excellence in Diabetes education. Diabetes education and assistance is provided for both patients in the hospital, and on an outpatient basis by individual appointment.
Location and contact information
The Diabetes Care Center is located just off Presbyterian Avenue, directly across from the Emergency Department entrance on the hospital campus. Patients are seen in the office by appointment. Our diabetes educator is Debbie Cross, RN. She can be reached at 812-801-0611 or via e-mail at crossd@kdhmadison.org. Cross has been a registered nurse for 21 years.
According to Cross, living with diabetes isn't easy, but managing the disease is important. The good news: diabetes can be controlled with proper nutrition, blood sugar (glucose) monitoring, and appropriate medication. In some cases, Cross says, exercising and losing weight helps eliminate the need for diabetes medication. Most important, managing diabetes is not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Learn more today.
