KDH Cancer Treatment Center affiliates with Norton Cancer Institute
To build upon its already strong cancer program, the KDH Cancer Treatment Center has entered into an affiliation agreement with Norton Cancer Institute to provide physician care and program support. Dr. Shawn Glisson and Dr. George Goldsmith (Oncology/Hematology) see patients at the KDH Cancer Center in Madison. To serve patients better, KDH has also hired Nurse Practitioner Andrea Casey. She is at the KDH Cancer Center full time and provides exceptional patient care every day.
The Norton Cancer Center affiliation allows KDH to expand its services in the future and provides local cancer patients access to a variety of research activities and protocols. Most important, the affiliation ensures that KDH will continue to provide exceptional cancer care in Madison. It's important that cancer patients have the ability to obtain the very best care without the need to travel. This reduces stress on both the patient and the patient's family.
Note: The affiliation with Norton Cancer Institute is for cancer (oncology) services only. As an organization, King's Daughters' Health remains fully independent.
New Cancer Center
KDH is developing plans for a new cancer center at the new hilltop campus. We anticipate the new cancer center opening in late 2014 or early 2015. The new cancer center will continue to provide both medical and radiation oncology services. More information will be available soon.
The Cancer Treatment Center at King's Daughters' Health has earned Accreditation with Commendation from the American College of Surgeons (ACOS)—meeting the highest standards of care set forth by the ACOS.
While team members focus on providing cancer patients with care, support, and hope, achieving accreditation with commendation ensures that patients receive a level of cancer care that rivals any cancer center in the region.
